Our Natural Gas Engineering Design Technician plans the route of service and installations. You will communicate and interact with Customers, Developers, Utility Companies and Vendors to find the most cost-effective and efficient routing of underground utilities. 

What You'll Do

  • Design replacement distribution natural gas facilities
  • Obtain permits from governing municipal agencies
  • Implement Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP’s)
  • Research using various data bases, existing Customer facilities, Rights of Way, Utility Easements and private easements
  • Perform other duties as requested by leadership

What You'll Have

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 - 4 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of Arizona Bluestake Laws, underground utilities and locator markings
  • Previous natural gas utility experience desirable 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel
  • Ability to effectively process information from managers, employees, customers, and municipalities
  • Detail-oriented and possess strong work ethics and organizational skills
  • Possess good communication skills
  • Ability to resolve conflict effectively
  • Ability to complete assignments while working under tight deadlines and with minimal or no supervision
  • Ability to interact with public, supervisors, and coworkers professionally at all times

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in a 50% office and 50% field work at warehouse and construction sites
  • Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary with little or no notice
  • Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing
  • Mobility required within an office, warehouse and construction site environments
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds

Legal Stuff

  • Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
