Our Safety & Quality Training Instructor will oversee all training programs and requirements for the area with an emphasis on safety & quality requirements.

  • Oversee the scheduling, execution and results of company and customer required training
  • Manage workload, performance and development of trainees
  • Active participation in the instruction of OQ and OSHA required training
  • Coordinate and communicate the department’s results from assessments
  • Enforce Company Safety Policies and Customer Construction Standards
  • Implement and execute new training programs as company and/or customer needs change
  • Manage labor and material cost for the Training department
  • Other duties as requested by leadership

Education, Skills, Experience Needed

  • High School Diploma or equivalent  
  • Minimum 5 years’ underground utility experience and accompanying knowledge of natural gas construction, excavations, heavy equipment and PPE
  • OSHA 30 required, OSHA 500 is preferred
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative skills to create learning content and activities
  • Must be detail orientated and organized
  • Proficient in teaching large groups of people and tailoring training to meet one-on-one needs
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines under stressful conditions
  • Travel may be required

Working Environment

  • Work is performed in a typical indoor office environment
  • Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary with little or no notice
  • Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing
  • Mobility required within an office, warehouse and construction site environments
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
  • Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner


  • Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
  • Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify
  • Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check results
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
