The Total Rewards Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing compensation, benefits, and recognition programs that attract, retain, and motivate employees while ensuring market competitiveness and internal equity. This role partners closely with HR leadership and cross functional stakeholders to ensure total rewards strategies align with organizational goals, support employee engagement, and comply with applicable laws and regulations.

 

What You'll Do

•    Manage the design, implementation, and administration of compensation programs including base pay structures, incentive plans, and salary administration.
•    Conduct job evaluations, market analyses, and internal equity reviews.
•    Oversee annual compensation planning (merit, market adjustments, bonuses).
•    Maintain salary surveys, benchmarking data, and compensation analytics.
•    Administration of HRIS compensation modules.
•    Administer and manage employee benefits programs such as health insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, leave programs, and voluntary benefits.
•    Partner with brokers/vendors to assess plan performance, renewals, and cost containment opportunities.
•    Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, and other regulatory requirements.
•    Oversee administration of HRIS compensation modules.
•    Maintain documentation for audits and regulatory compliance.
•    Manage compensation and benefits related reporting (EEO, ACA reporting, etc.).
•    Stay current on laws, regulations, and market trends impacting total rewards.
•     Serve as a subject matter expert on compensation and benefits issues.
•    Provide guidance and training for HR partners and managers.
•    Lead employee education and communication campaigns for total rewards programs.

What You'll Have

•    5–7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3–5 years in compensation, benefits, or total rewards roles.
•    2-3 years of leadership and people management strongly preferred.
•    Experience designing or administering compensation structures and/or benefit programs.
•    Experience with HRIS systems and compensation/benefits tools.
•    Experience in a mid size or large organization preferred.

•    Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field required.
•    Master’s degree in HR, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
•    Professional certifications preferred: 
     CCP (Certified Compensation Professional)
     CBP (Certified Benefits Professional)
     CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist)
     SHRM CP / SHRM SCP or PHR / SPHR

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in a typical indoor office environment
  • Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary with little or no notice
