By joining the Centuri Group Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) team, you help us in supporting our operational partners in the commitment to continuous improvement. As a team, we manage the successful implementation of SHEQ programs and are primary contributors to the creation of program standards, safety training, auditing processes, and safety culture. Our goal is to provide subject matter expertise to the business to support our customers’ needs, regulatory compliance, and, most importantly, our employees’ wellbeing.

 

As a Manager, Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) Management Systems you will support a collaborative project management process to develop SHEQ programs as part of Centuri's Integrated Management system (IMS). In addition, you will coordinate and develop written support documents and training compliant with customer, regulatory and company requirements. You will report to the Sr Director of SHEQ Management Sytems & Compliance. 

 

Position must report on-site in our Phoenix, AZ office. 

What You'll Do

  • In collaboration with the Sr. Director SHEQ Systems, establish annual SHEQ program objectives related to program development, updating and issuance
  • Act as the contact person for all SHEQ IMS programs
  • Develop, maintain and implement SHEQ programs and initiatives focused on company SHEQ goals, objectives, and various regulations
  • Manage the program development and document control processes
  • Organize and document work electronically using a tracking log, electronic filing system, and electronic management database
  • Project manage multiple documentation projects/initiatives concurrently to ensure that priorities are addressed appropriately, and that all standard team processes are followed
  • Interact with Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) to write, edit, and validate precise and comprehensive documents including work instructions and program standards
  • Collaborate and build strong working relationships with SMEs including safety directors, managers, and operations employees to ensure that information is documented accurately
  • Integrate user-friendly content in illustrations, graphs, and infographics for enhanced user experience
  • Manage content change management efforts and process development in support of team success
  • Distribute and communicate all new and updated documentation to the correct stakeholders to ensure that all teams are fully aware of what is published, and when
  • Lead SHEQ program response requests for Customer Bid Packages
  • Provide oversight of Contractor Management Program administration and regulatory reporting databases 
  • Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership

What You'll Have

  • Bachelor's in Health and Safety or similar field
  • 7+ years of work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Posses Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation or equivalent
  • Experience developing SHEQ written programs, conducting surveys, and compliance database systems
  • Strong written communication skills to compose reports, proposals, presentations, and work-related manuals
  • Experience in gas or electric utility valued
  • Experience creating documentation for a skilled labor force
  • Must be proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe
  • Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to learn quickly and prioritize tasks in a fast paced and dynamic environment

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in a typical indoor office environment
  • Position must report on-site in our Phoeniz, AZ office
  • Flexibility to work different schedules and stay late with little or no notice
  • Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing
  • Mobility required within an office, warehouse and construction site environments
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
