As an Information Technology Systems Engineer you will provision, install, configure, and maintain systems, hardware, software and related infrastructure. You will also conduct technical research and development to promote continuing innovation within the infrastructure. You will report to the Manager of IT Infrastructure.

What You'll Do

  • Design, construct and test system infrastructure
  • Install, monitor, and direct proactive and reactive computer network defense measures to ensure the availability, integrity, confidentiality and reliability of systems
  • Develop complex engineering designs to help implement network, and compute, telephony, platform, middleware and database solutions
  • Manage all networking and systems projects including server provisioning/troubleshooting, voice/data circuit installation and operation, WAN projects, monitoring and problem resolution
  • Direct and perform all necessary IS audits to ensure service levels are sustained, systems are optimized and IS systems are not compromised
  • Be a mentor for Systems/Network Administrators, audit work product to ensure Service Levels are adequately maintained and data integrity is preserved
  • Follow change control procedures when implementing changes to the production network environment
  • Review and assess user needs and make recommendations for resources required to maintain and expand service levels
  • Perform after hours support tasks to sustain networking systems and service levels – 24/7/365
  • Develop diagrams, Standard Operating Procedures, and work instructions
  • Write policies, procedures, test/assessment results and other types of documentation
  • Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership

What You'll Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, IT or related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years, hands-on systems administration experience in an enterprise environment
  • Experience in the following required: O365 product suite, enterprise data storage, VMWare, system security hardening, Microsoft servers, network architecture, and network services such as DNS, DHCP, file print, applications, MS Exchange administration, anti-virus software configuration and maintenance, server backups and data archiving, SQL database configuration and maintenance, network monitoring, software distribution, and web server configuration and management
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks from start to finish while keeping all partners updated on progress
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, presentation, and time management skills
  • Ability to document solutions and processes

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in a typical indoor office environment
  • Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary with little or no notice
  • Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing
  • Mobility required within an office, warehouse and construction site environments
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
