As an Instructional Designer, you are responsible for the planning, design and development of Centuri’s learning initiatives. You will conducts needs assessments and develop measurement instruments for instructional assignment in conjunction with the Manager of Training & Development.

  • Create engaging learning activities and course content
  • Liaise with subject matter experts regarding instructional design, content, and target audience’s training needs
  • Maintain project documentation and course content in the company’s Learning Management System 
  • Conduct training using recognized training techniques and tools 
  • Manage the development and resources utilized for the integration of all content into program to include graphics, illustrations, activities, case studies and simulations
  • Research and apply emerging technology and concepts to training initiatives
  • Create supporting materials/media (audio, videos, simulations, role plays, games, etc.)
  • Create products for eLearning delivery platforms
  • Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership 

Education, Skills, Experience Needed

  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, educational technology or similar field is required
  • 1 years of experience as an instructional designer or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience using Adobe Articulate required
  • Project management skills preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of instructional design and educational technology
  • Expertise in learning theories, instruction design models and curriculum planning 
  • Visual design skills and ability to storyboard
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, financial reports, business plans and strategies, and legal documents
  • Ability to manage and meet aggressive deadlines
  • Ability to thrive in a high volume, high stress environment 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a variety of SME’s

Working Environment

  • Work is performed in a typical indoor office environment
  • Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary with little or no notice
  • Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing
  • Mobility required within an office, warehouse and construction site environments
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds


  • Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
