Our Procurement Specialist is responsible for supporting and advancing organizational objectives with a key focus on leading sourcing events and vendor optimization related projects and initiatives. You will actively foster and maintain strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders and external vendor partners with the goal of maximizing total value to Centuri and its subsidiaries

Responsibilities
  • Source, bid, negotiate, and contract goods and services based on company objectives
  • Work closely with internal business units to expand knowledge and effectiveness for strategic sourcing related processes
  • Mine spend data and generate reports from which sourcing opportunities will be determined
  • Build and lead RFP/RFQ events using sourcing software while utilizing established best practices and strategies
  • Analyze supplier proposals and bids in the RFP/RFQ evaluation and selection process
  • Provide contract management expertise to address informational needs relevant to utilities
  • Develop and maintain industry knowledge and awareness to be current on best practices, new suppliers, and market trends
  • Utilize software tools for data management & analysis to support key sourcing initiatives
  • Maintain and track various supplier pricing, contracts and agreements
  • Act as an interface for assigned suppliers globally
  • Provide support to ensure continuous improvement in supplier/company interface through strategic planning
  • Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with diverse suppliers 
  • Other duties as requested by leadership 
Education, Skills, Experience Needed
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in supply chain management or business administration required 
  • Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel, and in the use of software tools for data management & analysis
  • Experience utilizing Procure-to-Pay Sourcing and Contracts software a plus (SAP Ariba/Coupa)
  • SAP ERP experience preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of key procurement/sourcing functions and vendor management strategies
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills 
  • Strong interpersonal skills to negotiate key business strategies or significant agreements favorable to the enterprise
  • Ability to work effectively with team or company staff 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Highly organized & detail oriented with the ability to multitask, never losing sight of end goals/objectives
Working Environment
  • Work is performed in a typical indoor office environment
  • Occasional travel may be required 
  • Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary with little or no notice
  • Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing
  • Mobility required within an office, warehouse and construction site environments
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
Requirements
  • Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
  • Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify
  • Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check results
