As a Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) Program Specialist you will support a collaborative project management process to develop SHEQ programs as part of our Integrated Management system (IMS). You will also develop written support documents and training compliant with customer, regulatory and company requirements. You will report to the Director of Business Process & ISO Compliance.


Work will be performed in a Corporate office desk-based setting.  

What You'll Do

  • Establish annual SHEQ program goals related to program development, updating and issuance
  • Develop SHEQ programs and manage the development process
  • Track the documentation process to ensure that high-quality documentation is delivered
  • Manage multiple documentation projects concurrently and ensure all team processes are followed
  • Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SME's) to write, edit, and validate precise and comprehensive documents including work instructions and program standards
  • Proofread and edit content created by team members and other staff
  • Integrate user-friendly content in illustrations, graphs, and infographics for an enhanced user experience
  • Manage content change management efforts, distributing and communicating all new and updated documentation to the correct partners
  • Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership

What You'll Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety or related field
  • 5+ years' experience developing SHEQ written programs
  • Associate Safety Professional or Certified Safety Professional certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals
  • Experience leading a team of SMEs in the development of new processes
  • Experience writing user-friendly documents and presenting complex data
  • You excel at clarifying a situation, looking for information from appropriate sources, and posing questions to draw out relevant information
  • You are proficient in PowerPoint, Visio, and Adobe

Work Environment

  • ​​​​​​​Work is performed in a typical indoor office environment
  • Flexibility to work different schedules and stay late with little or no notice
  • Can read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing
  • Mobility required within an office, warehouse and construction site environments
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
