Our Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for supporting and advancing organizational objectives with a key focus on leading sourcing events for Indirect goods and services, contracting, and vendor optimization related projects and initiatives. You will actively foster and maintain strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders and external vendor partners with the goal of maximizing total value to Centuri and its subsidiaries.

Responsibilities

  • Source, bid, negotiate, and contract for Indirect goods and services based on company objectives 
  • Build and lead RFP/RFQ events using sourcing software while utilizing established best practices and strategies  
  • Mine spend data and generate reports from which sourcing opportunities will be determined  
  • Identifies and drives saving opportunities and consumption reduction through negotiations 
  • Conducts as needed eAuctions for goods and services, ensuring best value offering to business 
  • Revisits agreed terms with existing suppliers to improve productivity and working capital 
  • Supports implementation of automation opportunities 
  • Analyze supplier proposals and bids in the RFP/RFQ evaluation and selection process 
  • Provide contract management expertise to address informational needs relevant to utilities 
  • Develop and maintain industry knowledge and awareness to be current on best practices, new suppliers, and market trends  
  • Work closely with internal business units to expand knowledge and effectiveness for strategic sourcing related processes  
  • Maintain and track various supplier pricing, contracts and agreements 
  • Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with diverse suppliers 
  • Perform other duties as requested by leadership 

Education, Skills, Experience Needed

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred 
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in sourcing or supply chain management required  
  • Experience utilizing Procure-to-Pay Sourcing and Contracts software a plus (SAP Ariba/Coupa) 
  • Coupa and SAP ERP experience preferred  
  • Knowledge and understanding of key procurement/sourcing functions and vendor management strategies  
  • Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel, and in the use of software tools for data management & analysis 
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills  
  • Strong interpersonal skills to negotiate key business strategies or significant agreements favorable to the enterprise 
  • Ability to work effectively with team or company staff  
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality 
  • Highly organized & detail oriented with the ability to multitask, never losing sight of end goals/objectives 

Working Environment

  • Work is performed in a typical indoor office environment
  • Occasional travel may be required 
  • Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary with little or no notice
  • Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing
  • Mobility required within an office, warehouse and construction site environments
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds

Requirements

  • Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
