We are looking for a skilled and motivated Overhead Distribution Operator to perform critical tasks that support the installation, maintenance, and repair of our overhead electrical distribution systems. This role requires operating heavy equipment such as digger derricks, backhoes, and mini excavators, interpreting load charts and ensuring safety and efficiency in all operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with equipment and a commitment to safety. Must hold a valid CDL Class A license. The work location for this position is in Abilene, TX.
CDL REQUIRED
What You'll Do
- Operate digger derricks, backhoes, mini-excavators and other heavy equipment
- Interpret loading charts and rigging requirements for lifting of distribution equipment
- Perform flagman responsibilities
- Load and unload equipment and materials
- Daily pre-shift vehicle and equipment inspections
- Perform regular maintenance/cleaning on assigned vehicles and equipment
- Complete required company training, including safety training
- Perform Administrative and Lineman duties as required
- Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership
What You'll Have
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2 years' experience in the electrical services industry required
- Completion of an accredited apprentice program
- CDL license required
- Skill to operate equipment in close proximity to workers and electrical utilities

Work Environment
- Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions
- All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English
- Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling
- Work is performed within the “red zone” of heavy equipment
- Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

- Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check results
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record is required
