What You'll Do
As a Boring Crew Member, you’ll assist the Operator and Foreman in the installation of underground utilities such as conduit, pipe, or cable using trenchless boring methods. You’ll play a key role in supporting daily field operations, ensuring that all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Operator in setting up, operating, and maintaining directional boring and drilling equipment.
- Helping locate and mark existing underground utilities before starting work.
- Preparing the job site by unloading tools and materials, setting up safety barriers, and organizing equipment.
- Supporting the crew in drilling pilot holes, reaming, pulling pipe or conduit, and restoring the surface after completion.
- Performing manual labor such as digging, hauling, cleaning, and compacting backfill as needed.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored.
- Following direction from the Foreman and Operator while adhering to all safety procedures and company policies.
- Reporting any safety concerns, equipment issues, or delays immediately to the Foreman.
What You'll Have
- Some experience working in construction, underground utilities, or directional boring preferred (training provided for motivated candidates).
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn how to operate boring and support equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions, work safely, and function effectively as part of a crew.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude.
- Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from job sites.
- Commitment to teamwork, safety, and high-quality workmanship.

Work Environment
- Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions
- All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English
- Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling
- Work is performed within the “red zone” of heavy equipment
- Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
