Our Logistics Manager handles the procurement, inventory control and issuance of powerline construction materials, goods, and tooling to the Company.  You will be accountable for each part of the supply chain to ensure our crews are logistically able to consistently deliver our full array of construction service offerings while identifying possible obstacles that may affect their safety and productivity to meet the changing demands of our many valued customers.

What You'll Do

  • Develop sound, cost-effective strategies for the purchasing of materials, goods and tooling used in the business
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers while continually sourcing additional vendors
  • Evaluate spending operations while seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased and the timeliness of deliveries
  • Communicate with management regularly regarding the efficient flow of goods and services affecting production
  • Conduct cost analyses and setting benchmarks for improvement
  • Develop risk management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of product shortages
  • Supervise a purchasing team and delegate tasks across departments when necessary
  • Work closely with the company legal department to ensure contracts and terms are favorable
  • Optimize warehouse functions
  • Handle communications and negotiations with suppliers
  • Collaborate with other departments to close operational gaps
  • Monitor projects and ensure completion within deadlines and to budget expectations
  • Ensure complete and accurate timekeeping and paperwork on job progress & costs
  • Manage work sequences to meet or exceed construction schedules 
  • Meet customer expectations in both daily and overall needs
  • Enforce National Powerline safety, quality and performance standards
  • Enforce OSHA and NECA standards, regulations, and best practices
  • Manage area budget and meet or exceed financial performance metrics as set by senior leadership 
  • Perform other duties as requested by leadership

What You'll Have

  • High school diploma or equivalent required 
  • Knowledge and skill in using a computer
  • OSHA 30 preferred
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to understand plans/drawings to understand project bill of material (BOM) to inventory, organize, and issue appropriate material to line crews.
  • Proven success in meeting critical deadlines under stressful conditions 
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility and desire to keep crews safe

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in a typical indoor office environment
  • Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary with little or no notice
  • Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing
  • Mobility required within an office, warehouse and construction site environments
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds

Legal Stuff
