You will conduct field inspections of utility poles to gather pole information using camera, computer, and visual assessment, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards, and supporting the preparation of poles for new installations or upgrades. You will be technically proficient, safety-minded, and comfortable working outdoors.

What You'll Do

• Support make-ready Lead Field Engineer in conducting on-site inspections of utility power poles to assess condition and readiness for make-ready work.
• Work closely with Lead Field Engineer to accurately and timely collect and record field data using mobile devices and digital tools.
• Capture and upload high-quality photo documentation into inspection software.
• Use mobile apps and GIS-integrated forms for data reporting.
• Collaborate with Lead Field Engineer to clearly communicate inspection findings and recommendations to all parties involved in process.
• Travel to and from job sites safely, occasionally over long distances.
• Work independently in the field, walking and carrying equipment as needed.
   

What You'll Have

• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
• High School or GED with experience in construction preferred
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions.
• Physically able to walk long distances while carrying necessary field equipment.
• Understanding of power pole infrastructure and communication/electrical attachment requirements.
• Experience with GIS-based or mobile inspection tools is beneficial.
• Proficient with computers, cameras, and mobile data collection tools.
• Familiarity with Microsoft programs (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Work Environment

• Flexibility to work different schedules and stay late with little or no notice
• Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing
• Mobility required within an office, warehouse and construction site environments
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
