The EHSQ Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing Environment, Health, Safety and Quality programs across gas utility operations. This role ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, company standards, and industry best practices. The EHSQ Manager leads audits, risk assessments, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain operational excellence and safety.
What You'll Do
- Develop and oversee EHSQ strategies and policies for gas utility operations.
- Ensure adherence to DOT, PHMSA, OSHA, and other applicable regulations.
- Lead internal audits and field inspections to verify compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Oversee investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for safety and quality incidents.
- Design and deliver EHSQ training programs for employees and contractors.
- Prepare and present EHSQ performance reports to senior leadership and regulatory agencies.
- Drive initiatives to enhance safety culture, environmental stewardship, and quality performance.
- Manage and mentor EHSQ staff, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
- Perfrom other duties as requested by leadership
What You'll Have
- Six years of experience in Gas Construction related operations; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Construction-related field preferred. Safety Certificates or similar industry recognized qualifications preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally.
- Strong knowledge of gas utility operations, pipeline safety, maintenance practices, and applicable federal and state regulations.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards such as DOT, OSHA, and PHMSA.
- Experience with quality management systems, risk assessment, hazard analysis, and incident investigation methodologies.
- Ability to analyze EHSQ performance metrics and apply data-driven insights to improve operations.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Advanced auditing, compliance verification, and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and strategic focus.
- Proficiency in MS Office and EHSQ management software.
- Ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements to operational practices.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines while driving continuous improvement and cultural change.
- Capability to lead proposal, estimating, and planning phases of projects, ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements while developing effective safety, quality, and execution plans.
- Ability to set clear expectations, monitor service quality, and deliver consistent results aligned with federal, state, company, and customer standards.

Work Environment
- Work is performed 50/50 in an office environment and on construction sites
- Flexibility to work different schedules and stay late with little or no notice
- Can read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing
- Mobility required within an office, warehouse and construction site environments
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
