TPL Heavy Equipment Operators operate huge heavy machinery to install or replace underground utility pipelines. They do serious underground excavation projects and are highly skilled craft workers who do important work on systems people rely on everyday.

 

*Experience working with underground water and sewer utilities required 

What You'll Do

  • Operate excavation construction equipment for the installation of Water, Sewer and Storm Drain, (Track hoes, Backhoes, Loaders, ect)
  • Follow TPL Safety guidelines and procedures
  • Properly follow laws, regulations and guidelines regarding work in Blue Staked work areas
  • Load and unload equipment and materials
  • Daily pre-shift vehicle and equipment inspections; maintain daily log
  • Perform regular maintenance/cleaning on assigned vehicles and equipment
  • Maintain all industry-required Operator Qualifications
  • Perform other tasks as requested by leadership 

What You'll Have

  • 12 months’ experience operating track hoes, backhoes, loaders, compaction equipment preferable
  • Must have experience in the Water, Sewer, Storm Drain or underground utility field
  • Knowledge of construction stakes and grades
  • Competent and knowledgeable pertaining to OSHA excavation requirements

Work Environment

  • Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions
  • All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English
  • Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling
  • Work is performed within the “red zone” of heavy equipment
  • Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
